Why are there these requirements in the working environment of air compressors?

As is well known, there are certain requirements for the operating environment of air compressors. When establishing an air compressor station, it is recommended to choose places with good ventilation and heat dissipation, good air quality, low humidity, and away from corrosive and irritating gases. Why are these requirements in the operating environment of air compressors?

1. There are corrosive or irritating gases in the working environment of air compressors, such as sulfides, cleaning chemicals, etc. They are dispersed in the air. The high temperature of the compressor itself accelerates the oxidation of oil. Once these gases enter the air compressor system, they will react with lubricating oil, producing carbon accumulation and sludge. Some impurities entering the lubricating oil circulation system will be intercepted by the oil filter, while another part of the impurities will rise to the oil content with the mixture of oil. When gas passes through the oil fraction, these impurities will remain on the oil paper and block the filter holes, causing the oil content to gradually increase, thus replacing the oil content in a shorter period of time.

2. The higher the temperature, the higher the exhaust temperature of the air compressor, making it more difficult to control the exhaust temperature. If the working environment temperature is high, the air pressure will be lower, making it difficult for the air compressor to function effectively.

3. Poor filtration accuracy of air filters can prevent some dust particles in the air from being intercepted and directly enter the air compressor system, resulting in excessive filtration load and oil content, leading to early oil filtration and blockage of oil content.

4. Excessive oil content can cause the filter material to expand and contract micropores, reducing the effective separation area for oil content, resulting in increased oil content resistance and premature blockage of oil content.

When the device is turned off, the external airflow will flow back into the oil due to the leakage of the minimum pressure valve. Due to the simultaneous decrease in temperature and pressure, gas condenses into water droplets, which enter the oil content, causing the water absorption rate of the material to expand and deteriorate.

It is necessary to carefully consider the location and environment of the air compressor station. Adverse environmental factors can affect the performance and efficiency of the air compressor, increase the occurrence of faults, and shorten the service life of the unit.
